About Me

I was born in St. Petersburg and graduated from the First Medical Institute, completing my residency in ophthalmology.

I fell in love with photography at the age of 12, when my grandfather gave me my first camera, a Smena 8M, for my birthday. My grandfather was a keen photographer himself; he had a luxurious Zenit camera, and we spent weekends in the dark bathroom developing film and printing photographs. Images appeared on paper in the magical red light, the photos dried on clothespins, and I regularly burned my fingers on the glossing machine.

Photography and travel became my main passions. I've visited 79 countries, and the impressions from these trips are stored on numerous memory cards.

This website has a special section on medical photography, featuring a selection of images taken for the websites of private and public eye clinics. Please do not open this section if you are not a medical professional or have a weak nervous system.

My first solo exhibition, "Mirror of Perception," rtook place in St. Petersburg, and more are planned soon.

Perhaps photography will become a profession someday, but for now it's just a wonderful hobby.
